In January, 1998, the Orchard Park Community suffered a great loss when Tom Gardner, Coach of the Orchard Park Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team and summer leagues, tragically passed away. The Thomas R. Gardner Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to continue the work that Tom began over 20 years ago working with children both on and off the lacrosse field. Tom believed in hard work, self discipline, team effort and giving one hundred percent of oneself. The scholarship, created by his parents, will be awarded to two Orchard Park High School seniors (one male and one female) based upon their ability to exemplify Tommy’s work ethic both in the classroom and on the field.
